Lion John Douglass introduces John Walp, Commissioning Manager of the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility in Alamogordo

The research project at the facility will focus on five areas:


  • Desalination of brackish groundwaters
  • Renewable energy/desalination hybrids
  • Concentrate management problems
  • Small-scale desalination systems
  • Produced waters

    The facility has four wells and water from each well is stored in these tanks for research purposes.
     Ducks play in one of the three evaporation ponds on the facility.
     Special thanks to Mr. John Walp for a wonderful tour of the BGNDRF and educating the Alamogordo Breakfast Lions on the valuable research that is being conducted at the facility.
